Artistic Beginnings & Early Works
André Harke is a Berlin-based visual artist. He was born in Wuppertal, Germany, in 1977. In 2004, André started tattooing in Wuppertal and later moved to work in Dortmund, Germany. André then joined the Temple of Set in March 2007. His first permanent exhibition took place in 2008 at the “Q Dortmund”
with aquarelle paintings. In 2009, his first writings emerged in various occult newsletters. André’s first book, “Sinnlicht”, was published in 2010, together with Judith Binias. It contained both texts and aquarelle paintings by André.
Temple of Set & Occult Philosophy
In March 2012, André was ordained to the Priesthood of Set, in the Temple of Set. In 2017, he was recognized as a Master in the Order of the Trapezoid., an Order within the Temple of Set. During this time, André continued to deepen his exploration of occult philosophy. In 2018, he self-published his
second book, ”. IX . Daimonion”, which explores the concept of Daimonion (inner voice) in theory and practice. The book also features ink drawings of the Tarot Trumps, under the title “Runa - Tarot”.
Publications & Collaborative Projects
In 2019, André founded the Geheimes Haus des Saturn, an active House in the Order of the Trapezoid and an Element in the Temple of Set. The first edition of the “Emerald Dawn”, the official newsletter of the Geheimes Haus des Saturn, appeared in 2021 and was created by André Harke and Thomas Brovelli.
In the same year, André published ”+ Invocation of Set +”, a book that presents a large collection of his past drawings, along with introductory material and poems. This publication is available internationally (ISBN 978-3-7543-4363-0).
Exhibitions & International Recognition
In 2022, André published ”+ Daimonion + Exhibition” (ISBN 978-3-7543-0096-1), his first collaborative book with Thomas Brovelli. This exhibition catalog documents André’s paintings and drawings displayed at Danera Gallery in Berlin and includes written interpretations and insights into his creative motivations. Thomas also contributed poems and performed
the editing for the publication. That same year, a collection of André’s large-scale paintings was exhibited at the Occulture Conference in Berlin, Europe’s largest international occult conference. At this event, André and Thomas gave a presentation on Trapezoidal Magic and the 9 Angles, titled “The Trapezoid and the Dark Fire”.
Works
